Structural Calculations in Hornsey: What Building Control Needs

Structural calculations for Hornsey projects
Hornsey's Victorian terraces and interwar homes are regularly extended, opened up and converted. Almost any of those jobs involves a structural change, and Building Control will want to see that it has been properly designed.
What is in a calculation pack
A typical pack sets out the design loads, the checks on each beam, column, lintel, padstone and foundation, and the materials and sizes specified, referenced to the relevant British Standards and Eurocodes. Building Control uses it, together with the drawings, to approve the structure under Part A of the Building Regulations.
Drawings your builder can use
Calculations only work if the builder can build from them. We provide plans, sections and beam schedules with connection details and notes on temporary works, so the site team knows exactly what is being installed and in what order.
Typical Hornsey projects
Rear extensions, loft conversions with dormers, internal wall removal and garage conversions are the jobs we see most. Send us your architect's drawings, or a description and photos, and we will tell you what structural design is needed.
